Tales of the Ogreguard, Volume I: The Last Ogreguard

The Last Ogreguard is a tale of magic, adventure, and the power of the sibling bond. Young Ogaeron and his older sister Wynnie are the last of the Ogreguard, enchanted creatures who have long protected the Kingdom from the goblins, ogres, and other dangers lurking in the Greenwood. The Guardians (as the Ogreguard are often called) meet these threats with a combination of book smarts, martial skill, and magic.

Ogaeron and Wynnie are very close both as siblings and as comrades. Being the last of their kind, they rely heavily on each other for moral support and for practical help in their work as Guardians. They also frequently butt heads about everything and nothing.

When Wynnie disappears one day, swallowed up by the Greenwood like so many Guardians before her, Ogaeron is devastated. He is overwhelmed by feelings of loss and guilt. He struggles to move forward and do the job that has fallen on his shoulders. In the end, he is able to confront, with the help of some unexpected allies, both the dangers of the Greenwood and the challenges of his own isolation.
